It sucks. I've been there, and I know it sucks. But you're doing the right thing- either she's going to realize that her behavior is what's pushing you away, and she'll change, or she won't- either way, you've got the high ground here, I think. Just (and I don't think I really need to tell you this) remind her (when she whines) why you're doing this.

I could understand if she just didn't want to leave on Johnny's birthday- but I've been here the whole time. And I was here every morning last week. She doesn't open every day.
