Sungyeol has the remarkable ability to tell the truth like it’s nothing, like it’s not true at all, which Myungsoo envies because its easy to panic and think of words that aren’t true. It’s why Sungyeol can’t act - because actors have to lie always when they face the camera. They have to become someone they aren’t, they have to make the audience believe in that person, that their own experiences are actually the character that they’re playing - the character that is the lie. The truth gets stuck in Myungsoo’s throat, like he swallowed a loaf of bread that lodged itself against his vocal chords and no amount of liquid will dissolve it
