but you knew that this day would come. You knew, because you were never meant to last. Two people as different as you were never meant to be more than ships colliding in the night.
"This has gone on for long enough," Junhyung says. He won’t come inside.
You want to punch him, shake him, drag him into the apartment and make him stay. Instead you sigh, turn away. "So it’s over?" you ask. You can’t believe this would be it; such a mundane ending to something that never really was.
Junhyung nods. "Yeah. It is. I can explain-"
"I don't want to hear it," you say. And you don't. You don't want to know about the new dorm, the new songs, the new friends. It's a whole new life you're not part of, and you hate it. You hate him for excluding you from it. "How am I supposed to," you start, but you don't get to finish.
"Not my problem," Junhyung interrupts. He doesn't meet your eyes; just leaves without saying goodbye. He leaves, and you don't follow. You can’t.
All you're left with is the memories of days long gone, and you don't know how to
