WTF! have ALL my relatives suddenly gone berserk? i got this email over the weekend from one of my aunts. (sister of the uncle who sent the other crazy email i posted on here.) she obviously forgot that i proudly speak 3 non-english languages daily in my own home!

my cousin actually sent me the same email a few weeks ago. my response wasnt as incredible as yours,but a mere are you kidding me? she happen to take that as I enjoyed the message. so I passed a message on to my sister, to let her know I am reporting all of her emails as spam.

there are times that this whole "we are America. Please speak English" gets out of hand. It is the wrong type of patriotism to promote. We are melting pot and there wouldnt be chinatowns with their intricate little stores or the many areas of the country where Americans embrace their heritage.

thank you. i seem to remember that one of the reasons we won WWII was that the japanese were NEVER able to break the code created by our valiant soldiers who used their native navajo language. maybe if THEY had all been able to ONLY speak english, we would ALL be speaking japanese now! just something to think about.

Being from a very large family of non-English speakers, this is pretty much amazing.

thank you. i grew up in an english only household in an english only town, and through great effort and respect for my fellow earthlings, i now proudly speak 4+ languages in my OWN home.
