I'm looking for a story where Jim wakes up in a hospital and they tell him that he's spent the last however many years in a coma and dreamed up all the Sentinel stuff. One of the things that helps convince him is that his face and chest are horribly scarred from the explosion that knocked him out. Of course it's all a trick by... someone (Brackett

Totally not the one, but also a good story, so thanks for linking to it.

What happened was: There was this point some years back where I mainlined the entire Cascade Library in about a month. After I'd finished doing that, this one really stuck with me, so I went looking for it again and couldn't find it at that time.

I half think the author took it down.
