So, let's see for example... Jim was with the Chopec for a long time. He could easily have unknowingly left a pregnant girl/wife-by-Chopec-custom behind. And even with fic writers' tending to treat women as useful for nothing else than to have babies, it wouldn't be unreasonable for the child to be a Sentinel

In my Cloudbusting series, Jim had a child by Carolyn in a 'once for old times' sake' situation before she leaves for San Fransisco. It's sub-plot rather than main plot however.

Depending on what you're looking for in the 'Jim is a father' concept, Grey wrote a story where he has to consider that he possibly fathered a child with Michelle Lazar from 'Inside Man'. He hasn't in the end which is, yes, a spoiler but is relevant to whether you'd be interested in the story or not. Slash, as you might expect from a story archived at 852.

And that's about the only other story I can think of that deals with the situation in a canon compliant way. There may be more stories in the gen archives, but I'm not so familiar with the gen side of the fandom.

I can't remember the title, but I have read a story where they find out that Alex is pregnant after her & Jim's tryst on the beach. Apparently Jim was overcome with the need to mate with her because of instinctual reasons. I remember Jim going to visit her in the prison/hospital where she is confined. I'm thinking it was slash, and the news about Alex and Jim's reaction to it, caused a lot of angst between the guys.

I did read one of those that was very good. The author made Alex sympathetic, but killed her off after the baby was born. Of course, leaving Alex catatonic was the series' way of avoiding dealing with continuing that storyline.
