Laurie, I just finished reading the story. Whoa! Talk about the edge of my seat. Angst galore. This was really good. I'm not usually into stories about Subs and Doms but this was different because of the different people from the planets. It was very interesting more than anything and boy was I glad there was a happy ending. I would had to strangle you, if not. LOL I love your other planet stories, so wasn't surprised to like this one, too. Great job. Thanks for a nice easy read. You say it's dark-toned but I like to think it's hopeful toned. LOL
Mella, the art is stunning. I love that star on his face and then used for the font, also. Great job. I especially like the ending picture with Jim in the uniform. Great manip. :)
You both did really well, you have ever reason to be proud. :) Hugs, Patt
I really enjoyed this. You created a fascinating world and culture and I loved all the rich detail explaining Maven society. I like the way Blair is shown as a product of that society and not just 1998 Blair plunked down on a different time and place.
I'm glad you enjoyed the story and I'm very pleased that the world building came across as substantial to you. And yes, while I wouldn't want to change Blair's essential nature, everybody is impacted by their environment, so he was, too.
Oh, I so enjoyed this! You created a great alternative cultural and social environment in which to introduce Jim and Blair, but the characters rang true all the same. True, Blair was submissive, but still gutsy and determined for all that, and Jim's protective, softer side came to the surface as I hoped it would. To be honest, I didn't think it was dark, more hopeful, and I loved the ending. Thank you so much for a great read.
And I should also thank Mella for her beautiful artwork - complemented the story so well
Thanks so much for your feedback. Since you and Patt both said you thought the story was more hopeful than dark I probably erred on the side of caution with my warnings. But better to overwarn than underwarn I guess. I'm glad that Jim's and Blair's characters seemed true despite being in a different time and place.
Thanks so much reading and commenting. I haven't even started reading the Big Bang stories yet. I'm planning on doing it while walking on the treadmill and this bronchitis-cold thing I've got going keeps me out of breath.
Sorry to have raised your anxiety level (I'm fibbing. When someone tells me they were worried about the characters then I figure I did okay at the angst and tension) Thanks so much for reading and commenting,
