Sneakers thumped against the glossy floor of the school's hallways. Uruha ran down the hall and around corners. He had no idea where he was running, and he didn't notice he was heading for the exit of school. Emotions went wild, and all Uruha knew, was that his mind was filled with questions. Aoi and him weren't official, yet he was feeling unexpected rage thrashing wildly inside him. Uruha was convinced enough that he liked Reita, but what he hadn't realized was that Aoi was the one who had been occupying his mind these days.
"Stupid, stupid, stupid!" Uruha cried, never stopping from running blindly.
Bursting through the double doors, he ran out towards the tree where him and Aoi first met. They always had their lunch together there since their freshman year, and Uruha always seemed to subconsciously find himself at their meeting place. Perhaps Aoi meant much more to him that he thought he did. Slumping against the tree, he slid down onto the grass and stared at his feet. He had never gotten so upset like that before; not even when he caught Reita all up on Kai underneath the bleachers. As much as he liked Reita, he never ended up yelling in front of Reita unless it was at Aoi. Never yelled or lost his temper that easily. Yet watching Aoi receive a simple kiss from Ruki just had his blood boiling and his heart twist.
The boy was getting rather sick of feeling this way, and the only way for him to get over it was to face the true facts. He had a crush on his best friend, and as much as he denied it, his heart wasn't going to let him live a lie. Burying a face into his hands, Uruha furrowed his eyebrows and sighed. What had just happened was so embarrassing. How he was going to face Aoi, he would think about that tomorrow.
The bell rang out a few moments later, indicating that lunch time was over, but Uruha wasn't going back. He didn't feel like going back and face the humiliation. Maybe he shouldn't go back for today. Anything was better than facing something embarrassing such as that. Since when was Aoi worth failing his classes?
The blonde was startled when he felt a hand run through his hair, and he flinched in surprise. He looked up through his blurry tears to see his best friend already crouching beside him. Figures. Aoi always knew where to find him. Wiping his eyes furiously with a hand, he was desperate to remove any trace of tears on his face. It ruined his light make up for today, but anything was better than Aoi see him so vulnerable and miserable like this. He gasped when Aoi pulled him into his arms, but with two hands at Aoi's chest, he shoved at the boy and made a move to cower away from him.
"Would you stop avoiding me?" Aoi sighed, feeling annoyed and hurt at the same time. "I don't know why you ran off in such a hurry, but you left your books behind. Do you know how expensive books are if you loose them?" he asked, eying the two books he had set in front of Uruha before.
"..."
Aoi looked over at Uruha, who was trying desperately to avoid his gaze. He continued to stare at the blonde for a while longer before looking back down at the ground between his slightly opened legs.
"You're not going to solve anything by running away all the time," he had said after a moment of silence. Again, Uruha didn't say a word. "You're so spoiled you know that? I'm always the one pampering you, following you just to make sure you're alright, and this is how you treat me? I tell you I love you, and this is what I get. Is this your true response to my feelings?" He asked, his gaze shifting towards Uruha once more.
"...If you loved me, you wouldn't be all kissing with Ruki," Uruha muttered bitterly.
"Ruki kissed me, I didn't kiss him," Aoi countered, and continued to wait for Uruha to look at him. He was beginning to feel a little hurt when Uruha refused to meet his gaze. "Why does it matter to you anyway? How Ruki feels about me is my business. I don't see why you have to have everything go your way. You never liked it when he hung around me, and you two just never got along because you always gave him the cold shoulder. He doesn't even know why you don't like him, but you've caused a little battle between you two. It's your personality everyone has a problem with, Uruha. You refuse to let people in your life, and you're constantly pushing them away. If you want to make more friends, maybe you should try being more open," Aoi said, unaware of the words that were slipping out of his mouth. He hadn't realized he had also just confronted Uruha about another problem.
Uruha stared at the grass with wide eyes, refusing to believe that Aoi was saying everything he didn't want to hear. Like hell that made him feel better. It wasn't his fault he liked Aoi that much. As a friend, or as a crush, it didn't matter because either way, he liked Aoi a lot. The other boy should have realized that by then right? This friendship was going downhill, and Uruha didn't know any other way to fix it but run away. That's always what he's been able to do.
"Well I'm sorry I'm such a bother," Uruha said bitterly, and he stood up. "If you wanted me out of your hair so much, you could have told me sooner. I would have understood. I'm not stupid, Aoi. I know what my personality is like, and I know myself best. I thought the person who would know me best was you, but I guess I thought wrong. I know how kind you are, and I don't know why you said what you said two days ago, but if that's to make me feel wanted and not lonely, please don't waste your time. I've noticed now that you never really look happy when you're around me, and I guess it was selfish of me to keep you from being truly happy with him. So go on, I don't need your pity. You have my approval to leave. Are you happy? I hope you are. Well anyway, I'm late, and I'm going back to class," Uruha said, bending down to pick up his two books, he turned around and started walking back towards the school.
Uruha felt his arm being pulled back, and his books fell onto the ground with a thud. Aoi had whiped him around and held both of his arms in a death grip. The blonde winced at the sudden pain, and he was shocked because Aoi had never been this rough on him since they have ever known each other.
"You think I was shitting you when I confessed to you?! I didn't think you were so inconsiderate of my feelings," Aoi said, his grip tightening on Uruha's thin arms.
"Well I'm sorry if I want to keep you to myself," Uruha huffed, and his voice softened at the sudden confession that slipped carelessly from his plump lips.
Aoi could have gaped and scream out to the world how happy he was if it weren't from the sudden shock of what Uruha had said. He wasn't sure if he had heard right, but he was going to go with what he thought he heard. Aoi's grip loosened and he pulled Uruha forward to embrace him.
"You know I'd never choose someone else over you," he whispered softly to the blonde. "And when I say I love you, I really do. Why can't we just try this?"
"I don't know...you know how risky it is. What if we get into a huge fight and we never speak to each other ever again? Getting into a fight between friends and getting into a fight with a lover is totally different..." Uruha mumbled softly into Aoi's neck.
"But we aren't getting anywhere like this Uru. I want to love you with no boundaries...I already take care of you, and I want to take care of you completely...do you understand what I mean?" Aoi put a hand on Uruha's neck and placed a kiss onto Uruha's lips.
"A-Are you sure?" Uruha blushed at that. When Aoi said he wanted to take care of Uruha completely, he didn't mean 'taking care' as in pampering him or tucking him to bed. He was going to take care of Uruha's other needs.
"I'm positive. And I'm not saying we're not going to run into any trouble, because not every relationship is perfect. If we run into an obstacle, we'll face it together okay?" he asked, and pulled back to stare at Uruha in the eyes.
Uruha looked at Aoi, and he thought for a moment. He wanted Aoi for himself, and Aoi was willing to commit himself to the blonde. Then he wouldn't have to worry about Aoi being taken away from him right? He gave Aoi his answer when he gave Aoi a chaste kiss and whispered a 'yes'.

"Reita! Mou, Reita wait up!" Kai exclaimed, as he ran across the parking lot after Reita who didn't seem to be noticing Kai running after him. "Reita! I've waited until after school to talk to you. At least talk to me!" Kai pouted as he walked faster and yanked Reita's arm back. His eyes widened in shock at the hurt and anger in Reita's expression. "R-Reita-kun..."
"Why are you still following me anyway? Don't you have Uruha to run off to?" he noticed the confusion in Kai's face, and he scoffed before he continued once more. "It's always Uruha everything. Even when Uruha wasn't fighting with Aoi, you were always worried whether or not he had lunch, or if he's taking care of himself. You know he has Aoi, so why do you even bother? I feel as if you're putting Uruha in front of everyone else. Even me," he said, turning away from Kai and continued to walk towards his car.
"Wh-What?! No, Reita, wait! It's not like that!" Kai exclaimed, and ran after the blonde. He stopped abruptly behind Reita when he stopped in front of his car. "Why would you think that? I don't like him that way Reita...please believe me."
"How can I believe you Kai? From what I've seen...it's just been going on for too long. Up until now, I've just had enough."
"Reita," Kai mumbled softly, and rested both his hands on Reita's chest. "You don't want to be with me anymore?" he asked, his eyes soft and pleading.
"I think you need to figure out how you feel first," Reita said, pulling away from Kai's touch. "I love you, but I can't keep going on like this when I don't feel confident about our relationship...I'm sorry," he looked down, and turned back around to open his car.
"Reita, please. Let's just talk this through," Kai pleaded, but Reita continued to get into his car. "Reita...I'm just worried. You know how I am. You're the only one, please let's just talk," Kai's plead turned into a whine as he placed his hands at the car window.
Reita looked away to make sure Kai wouldn't see him affected by the other boy's actions. It hurt him so much to see Kai's usual cheery face so sad like the way he was now. He buckled in his seat belt and started the engine on.
"Don't do this..."
Reita's engine roared to life, and he backed out of the driveway refusing to look at Kai and his fingers leave the car window. Kai watched Reita drive out of the parking lot. He sniffed and crossed his arms to try to warm himself from the sudden windy dark environment. Looking up at the sky, Kai cursed the fact that he forgot it was supposed to rain today.

"Ah Aoi! It's gonna rain again!" Uruha pouted up at the sky as he held onto Aoi's arm. Right on cue, it seemed like Uruha jinxed the weather when it had started to sprinkle.
"It seems to be raining a lot more often," Aoi laughed and held Uruha by the waist. "Better run," he chuckled as the two of them started to run towards Aoi's car.
"Eh?! Is that Kai?" Uruha asked, and pointed at Kai who wasn't too far from Aoi's car.
"What do you know...why is he standing out there? Hey Kai!" Aoi called out to the other boy and opened his car door. "Get in the car, Uruha. I don't want you catching another cold," he said, giving Uruha a quick kiss before leading him inside the car. Once Uruha was in the car, Aoi ran over to Kai and tapped him on the shoulder.
"Hey Kai, what are you doing?! Where's Reita? I thought you were going home with him today," Aoi raised an eyebrow and the rain started to fall harder. He became rather irritated when Kai didn't answer. "Come on, let's take you home."
Eventually, Aoi shoved Kai in the backseat and he hopped into the front himself. He found it rather strange that Reita wasn't there with him, especially after school. Normally that couple was inseparable. When they pulled up in Kai's driveway, Kai had insisted that they come in to keep him company.
They gathered in Kai's living room, and Kai had explained everything to them, despite his discomfort with Uruha in the same room. Aoi stared at Kai in disbelief, and Uruha was just as shocked.
"But...you don't really feel that way, do you?" Uruha asked, feeling a little worried. "I mean, we all know how worried you are," Uruha's eyebrows knitted together in confusion.
"Yeah...you're like that with everyone Kai. I don't see why Reita has to be so worked up about something like that. I'll talk to him, don't worry," Aoi nodded and gave Kai a reassuring look.
"Yes, Aoi will talk to him Kai! Don't worry!" Uruha smiled, and looked at Kai with hopeful eyes.
Kai raised an eyebrow at the two sitting a little too cuddly and snuggly with each other on the couch. Something was fishy here, and Kai had a good idea what was going on.
"Oh really now..." his sudden depressed mood turned into a somewhat sadistic sort of kind of character that kind of scared Aoi and Uruha for a good moment.
"...What?" Aoi raised an eyebrow in return.
"Don't tell me you two are dating?" he asked, his eyes twinkling and his smile wide. "Well it is about time!"
"Eer Kai...perhaps we should focus on your problem," Aoi sighed, as Uruha giggled in amusement.
"Awh he caught us Aoi," Uruha laughed and made the snuggling more obvious by wrapping his arms around Aoi's waist. "But Aoi's right, Kai. We need to fix your problem with Reita first. That's when Aoi and I will feel more at ease. You know it bothers us that you two are having your first fight. Normally you and Reita never have fights. It amazes me."
"Not all couples are prefect," Kai sighed.
"Don't worry Kai. I'll talk to him tomorrow," Aoi gave Kai a pat on the shoulder. "Uruha should come with me too," he said, looking at Uruha with a smirk.
"Eh?!"
