I went into the counseling center this morning to do more simulations with the remaining candidates (no crazy surprises this time, thankfully).  One of my coworkers dropped some paperwork on the floor, so I bent over to pick it up and my shirt rode up.

I understand about the scars and some peoples reactions. I wore shorts one day and I bent down to pick something up. The leg rode up and heard the "Oh my god! what happened?" It does get annoying but I tend to tune out a lot. I just explained that I wan in an accident, and that it was a long time ago.

I could help you with some things when it comes to cooking. I'm no chef, but I can show you some things if you want.

Shopping? Sale? I need to go.

In the end, all you can do is tune it out, you're right. Unfortunately, it led to stares and whispers through the entire center (heh, not of the final candidates, though. They knew I was the one who got that guy in my last entry thrown out of the process.) It's no secret that I had surgery; I just hate talking about it. That's what my doctor is for.

Any help is good. =) I've been banned from the kitchen whenever the boyfriends are around.

Exactly. At this point in my life, I'm healthy, even if I'm scarred up.

I'm not allowed to cook after nearly setting my junior high on fire during home ec. =)

Healthy is a great place. Scars - while annoying - mean little in the long run.

*blinks* do I even WANT to know what you were cooking? You seem more of a griller than a cooker to me. Cook WITH fire rather than your cooking CREATING it.

It's no 'Wizard of Oz' But it is one of my favorites. I will have to make the boyfriend sit through it some time soon.

I couldn't ask for more, even if they want me to always go in for checkups. The people whose opinions matter most to me don't worry about them, so I'm glad.

Renji has sat through Newsies with me. Other boyfriend has not, but he will as payback for all of the Kurosawa films he made me watch in high school.
