And now that annoying, ubiquitous song from Midnight Cowboy is stuck in my head.

But I'm also laughing so hard that I can forgive you.

(I am now also remembering when you called the first version of the ipod a fucking tombstone. Oh lord I think I need bed!)

Hahaha.

It sort of reminds me of how they hulkified Hyde for the League of Extraordinary Gentleman movie. Which I actually saw twice for the train wreck factor. I'm kind of scared to see how they'll ruin Watchmen... I mean, they've already turned Nite Owl into a beefy 32 year old, and Ozymandias looks like he's 22 and fresh out of a liberal arts program at Vassar.

trailer_spot has a link to the first behind-the-scenes peek at Watchmen in production here: http://trailer-spot.livejournal.com/174613.html

Much as I appreciate their attention to detail in getting the graffiti on the walls right, the casting is what will make or break the adaptation.

And, as far as I know, Moore is still refusing to be officially associated with it.

It's being a bit slow to load, but I'm excited to see it!

Ugh.

I used to know a few people who'd be very excited about this. Needless to say, I've distanced myself from them.

Ed Norton fangirls/boys, perhaps?

It seems to me that they've picked the wrong year to release this one - the potential blockbuster quota is pretty much filled...

Not even that! Superhero movies. If it had spandex and trite, wanky taglines, they lapped it up and got tattoos of the lead characters. In all seriousness.

Oh, how the other half live...

...astartesyriaca nearly had to stop me setting my own head on fire in a highly personalized act of Ghost Rider fan appreciation.

In the end, I had to settle for a "Caretaker" action figure with articulated toecaps and a gun that fires flaming cotton buds:

I love Edward Norton. But do we need ANOTHER one of these?

Norton has his moments, but the world was hardly crying out in a needy fashion for Ang Lee's (original) take on the property. Having another stab with a lesser director seems like throwing the desperation towel into the ring.

CGI makes it all too easy, alas.

...Mind you, a big screen version of Tex Arcana would be a different proposition entirely.
