Dad is still in the hospital. When they performed the surgery for his gall stone last week, it turned out it was infected and they were unable to do it laproscopically, so the procedure was much more invasive. He is on some pretty heavy duty antibiotics, still connected to an IV and a catheter, and he has a drain tube connected to his incision

When I was tyke we would go the cemetery for Memorial Day. They had a little ceremony where the kids would plant little American flags all around the small memorial there.

I'm glad he's in a 'don't give a damn' mood, at least, rather than so drained he's freaking about everything.
Well done, Gareth, on coping OK at the cemetery. It's a big thing to get used to but a cemetery can be so peaceful and healing, in an odd way. Doesn't suit everyone.

Gareth told me later he quite liked the cemetary and wants to go back. I think he thought it was a big park with lots of funny statues and plaques in the ground.
