"Greg," he said, still smiling slightly. He gave his son a quick once-over, taking in the disheveled state of his clothes and hair and the groggy look on his face. The smile faded momentarily as he pressed his lips together in disapproval. He raised his eyebrows. "What, you just wake up or something, Greg? It's four in the afternoon!" This had to be a nightmare. He was still in bed, fast asleep, and he was going to wake up at any moment and find this was just a bad dream. He turned his head away from his dad and squeezed his eyes shut a moment; when he opened them again, he was going to find himself in his bed and that would be that.
He blinked his eyes open again and glanced over his shoulder - and of course, his dad was still there. House half turned to face his father a little more, the dumbstruck look on his face slowly morphing into shock realisation.
"What are you doing here?" he asked guardedly, his hand still braced on the door handle and the door still open.

John gave his son an impatient look.
"Same as you, I expect: being stuck." He shrugged grumpily. "Just happened to wander in here, and then found out I couldn't get out." He shook his head angrily, still feeling frustrated about that fact. Then he sighed and looked back up at Greg. "Got to talking to some of the other folks here and found out from them that you were here too. Found out some other things from them too," he added, frowning disapprovingly.
He gestured to the open door. "I know I didn't raise you in a barn -- why don't you shut that door?" Without waiting to see if Greg did as he asked, he continued into the room, seating himself in an armchair.
