Eating After Dark (Open, Multiple Threads Welcome)
Dean sat at a table in the dining hall, hunched over a plate of chili fries. He'd been thinking about Jack's idea. It was sound, and it was fair, but he wondered if it would work. He half-hoped it wouldn't, and half-hoped it would. He'd pick a direction and walk, same as he expected everyone else would.
But at that moment, Dean couldn't sleep. He was going over his copy of John's dossier while munching on fries, trying not to get any drippings on his notes. He felt nothing but guilt - guilt for what he'd done to Lisa, guilt for wanting to stay, guilt about River (even though he didn't know exactly why he felt guilty about her - he hadn't done anything). Guilty even for Sam being there period. Maybe I brought him here. Maybe this is all my fault.
He took another bite and sighed, licking cheese off of his thumb.
