thank you. growing up in America, i've always found it hard to really write linearly about my childhood (i had the hardest time translating "Jaan"--i don't think there *is* a direct one!) but this just sort of clawed at me until i got it out so maybe i'm learning how to integrate, finally!
re: family, it's kind of ugly and confusing and i didn't want to get into it. long, involved, post sorta explains.
i think that writing linearly about childhood in general is sort of hard, because everything's jumbled up in our memories. or maybe that's just me. (it is hard translating from Asian languages to English, I think, because there're so many shades of meaning to one word, but in English not so much.) :)
