From Monterey to San Franciso, co-starring sea lions

Sep 13, 2011 22:01

We arrived in Monterey in the evening, and since Yosemite had been quite exhausting in a good way - Das reckoned we'd done about 16 kilometres worth of hiking - all we were able to do that night was hitting the sheets. But the next morning saw us strolling through the old harbor where the sea lions were sunning themselves, and through Cannery Row ( Read more... )

Gorgeous pictures! I still fondly remember the month I spent with relatives in Nor Cal, including SF and Monterey - one of the best times of my life. It's such beautiful country there. And yeah, I totally geeked out about seeing the RL "Cetacean Institute" as well. :D

I can totally understand why Starfleet Academy is in SF, too. :)

Oh San Francisco, how are you so pretty? The sea lions are darling.

Have fun in LA! Or at least have a fruitful conference. :D I'm moving there this Thursday, myself.

Permanently or as a visit?

Permanently. Well, for 2 years, at least - I'm going to grad school.

I've lived there before, and I grew up in Southern California, in the town where I've been living for a couple years now. (Riverside - it's about 60-70 miles east of Los Angeles) But I love LA the best, so I'm excited to be moving back.

...Also, hey, did you feel the little earthquake about half an hour ago? You're getting the full California experience this trip!

Just gorgeous! I've always wanted to go to San Francisco (more than LA actually) and now I want to go even more. Many thanks for sharing the lovely photos.

Oh, San Frwncisco is beautiful whereas Los Angeles is not, aesthetically speaking, plus youncan actually walknthrough the streets of the former as opposed to the later. This being said, LA has a surreal charme of its own and is a city of fascinating fragments, plus I know people and lived there for a while, so I am fond of it!

Gorgeous pictures. I haven't been on the west coast since the 80's, and your pictures really make me nostalgic.
