There is something about you and my journal, Astonishing X-Men, there is definitely something about you.

Other good things that happened to me yesterday were watching the recent tv adaption of Going Postal. Which was great fun, the actors were excellent (Charles Dance as Vetinari took a moment of getting used to because of the hair colour and his ( Read more... )

Oh I'd love to read that fic if it ever gets written. Also I always thought that Philip Glenister would make a brilliant Vimes.:)

Well now, I've seen Paul Darrow (Avon himself) in the role on stage, in Guards! Guards!. I can't speak for the accuracy of his portrayal as I hadn't read the book.

I also told honorh that Paul Darrow is my Vimes for that same reason.:) She's unfamiliar with Blake's 7, though.

So what you're saying is I should read Watch books? I would love to see/read Sam (Tyler) and Carrot interact. I don't know any Watch members besides the latter yet, but by the sound of it I may have mental funtimes with the idea of Sam and Sam interacting too.

Watch books are awesome and my favourite Discworld book ever, so I'm biased. :) But yes, you should. Mind you, they mature, but even the first one, Guards! Guards!, is great fun to read, and a great introduction of Sam Vimes, Carrot and Sybil. Men at Arms adds one of my fave female Discworld people, Angua. The Fifth Elephant vies with Night Watch for being my favourite Discworld novel, but you really can't start with them because especially Night Watch depends on contrast between where Sam Vimes is now and where he was in the past, and you need to have travelled the journey with him.

Oh, I've got no trouble with mature. And I'd be doing them in order, anyway. I've read a bit of Jingo, but was kind of eh, probably because I was lost smack in the middle of something.
