Well now, I've seen Paul Darrow (Avon himself) in the role on stage, in Guards! Guards!. I can't speak for the accuracy of his portrayal as I hadn't read the book.

Hmm, interesting choice. I can see Pegg as Sam Vimes but for me it's still Glenister.:)
