Regretfully, since I really loved the show and the characters, but it's always been my policy not to stick around once you derive more anger than enjoyment from a fictional source, and not to spoil things

Oh noes. You mentioned the H-word. I'm sorry it didn't work out for you because I know you loved that show. But it just didn't live up to its potential.

Ouch! But I do have to agree with you -- not so much about OUaT, because while I'm not so much feeling the current storyline and have some worries about the show's future, I'm still a positively engaged viewer -- but about bailing when the anger exceeds the enjoyment. Hell, I'd add boredom and frustration to anger, there, too. And, boy, did it take me entirely too long to come to that conclusion. I could have saved myself a lot of teeth-gnashing if I'd figured it out sooner.

I feel like deserting you as my comrade-in-OuaT love, but precisely because until this season I enjoyed the show to much I don't want to hang on through a souring stage.

I will really miss discussing it with you, I won't lie. But, of course, it wouldn't be the same if all you have to talk about is how unhappy you are. That's never any fun for anybody. (Well, maybe there are some people who genuinely enjoy hate-watching. But I do not understand those people.)

I'll miss your meta very much. but I like that stance! I don't get staying with a show if there isn't something to make it worthwhile in a positive way. Healthy investment choices.

Everyone whose writing I like is saying good things about Daredevil!

ETA: Now I remember why I started reading your OUAT stuff and de-lurked. Positive interactions and about stuff I liked! Or came to like, because you made me appreciate things I hadn't paid as much attention to because they hadn't fallen into my particular viewing angle. This is a good part of why I want to get into your other shows.

Thank you. I very much enjoyed writing about OuaT, it's a show that gave me many characters I loved and some neat twists on story tropes. But yes, watching for a reason other than more affection than displeasure is beyond me, and so I have to say goodbye ot it.

Perhaps there is now room on your schedule for Person of Interest! This show is seriously in need of some heavy slash-implying gen like you do. :-)

I've been thinking about Person of Interest watching for a while now because Ben Linus Michael Emerson is in it, but otoh there are so many other shows also recced with shorter seasons! Like, most recently, Empire, which zahrahwithaz promised is basically a modern day Lion in Winter take on the Plantagenets. But it (PoI) is on the list, definitely.
