There's a new brand out, NeilMed. They have a design that's much easier to use than the usual you see around.

Yeah, that was kind of my reaction.

Good to know... because ewwww.

I can already feel the difference, just in the hours since I've used it. I'm breathing easier than I have in ages. I'm hopeful that this will make a major difference in my immunities.

I was amazed the first time I used one at how clear my sinuses were and felt. Just astonished. I could smell really well, even better than normal, and that made me estatic. The internal parts of my ears, which usually feel slightly clogged, also felt clean.

Then on the 3rd day of using the neti pot I got a sinus infection like whoa, had to take off work for a day, and have never used one since.

Should I start again? I don't know. I really don't want to get another sinus infection.

You should probably check with your doctor. As navrins says above, there are some people for whom their nose just isn't shaped in such a way that a neti pot works.

Also, it's not supposed to affect your ears - it sounds like you may have used too much water or something. That may have caused the problem.

*nodnod* Yeah, sinus surgery is something my doctor mentions every single year, when I start getting sick in late fall. We're hopeful that this will keep it from being necessary.

I hope things go well for your son.
