What denomination did you find?

it's a United Methodist Church.

I was raised Presbyterian, and always leaned toward Lutheran, but my parents are now Methodist, and we were married in their church.

Believe it or not, it's the sermons that hooked me. The band is nice, the people are great, but the fact that I can listen to a sermon and go, yes, I agree! ... that's what I like.

Isn't Christianity supposed to be based on the teachings of Christ? A lot of the hate shit that "Christians" like to spew forth make no sense to me. Because like, Jesus wasn't a hater. But, then again, what do I know? I'm an agnostic with Judaic influences.

Yes, and that's exactly why I like the church we joined. That's their belief. As Christians, we should act like Christ. Makes sense to me...

The thing is, it isn't only Christians who spew such hate. All religions have their detractors and haters because all religions are made up of human members.

It seems though, that the media chooses to show those who profess to be followers of Christ and His teachings acting hateful more often than those of other religions.

We live in a fallen, hateful world and while I do not agree with everyone's choices in life, I try not to judge (my name means, "God is my judge") and to love and be helpful to those who cross my path. I really wish everyone, no matter what their religion, would try to do that at the very least.
