The research for And Die In Thee has taken me into some dark places, of which the Crimea was the worst. As I feel all the names deserve inclusion somewhere here is the roll call of the British who died on the day.

the names are a great thing. fandom takes us many strange and wondrous places, but we should pay attention while we're there. This does that. Well done.

I didn't think there were so many deaths on the other side at the Charge of the Light Brigade. I had always heard that it was a fairly one-sided massacre brought on by hubris and stupidity on the one hand, and blind obedience to a wrong headed (and as it turned out, wrong) order on the other. It was, I thought, a decisive loss and a tragic waste of men.
