or at the very least I'm getting closer to being back in the real world. I stopped counting funerals I've been to after they hit 6 since July.

(HUGS) it's shocking that you've had to attend that many funerals!!!

Don't worry about not being around LJ- we all understand that real life really does come first and as long as you pop in occasionally and let us know that you're still out there...that's fine!

I can't wait to start reading the fics!

Argent, I really missed ya! (HUGS) how are you?

I can't wait for the fics! but my commenting on them might take awhile

It's coming along really slowly...I have 5 papers left but I'm so stuck with them that it's not a joke...but I'm hoping that I'll soon finish with two and start on the third by the beginning of Oct. It doesn't help matters that on the one paper, I'm doing with a partner and as much as I don't like doing research, etc, she's much slower...

have a good weekend! AND I'm so EXCITED about next week! the boys are back *dances*

I'm good (except for the bit where I've got a hot pack clamped to my spine - OW! Back still recovering from weeks sleeping on floor).

Glad to be back boinging through my LJ with a tulip clutched between my teeth.

FIVE papers? *pats you on the head and makes soothing noises* Eek. Hang in there, it's the last stretch. Also have you considered bribing your study partner to speed up? If carrots don't work, strongly suggest chocolate. It always works for me.

BTW Nice userpic. Very tropical, and holidayish.

Haven't had to go to a funeral for 2 weeks. *crosses fingers behind back* Awful few months.

And yes, hearing of things like this just makes one realise you have to live every day and cherish your friends and family.

Talk about being in the centre of the storm...you may as well have been travelling as Hurricane Gustav's luggage.

I so sorry for your enforced constant attendance to the darker side of our mortal quandary. Most funerals are never fun and the ones that are just mean you aren't going to have as much fun in life now that the loved is gone.

I hope your cousin starts to feel better and that her treatment can start and help her home. It must be terrible that she is so far away, but wonderful that so many have come to be close. Except for you, your back and your midnight muse.

Hug's to you again and I'm sorry too, for my lack of form and dreadful absence...but I am crawling out from under the bed. The dust bunnies are scaring even me.

Next time I'm down I'm going to have to slip some emergency supplies under your bed. Bottle of wine, nice glass, chocolates, a few mags, a rug, and some comfy pillows.

BTW utterly gorgeous icon.

Cousin moving hospitals tomorrow. Yay for the specialist who is wonderful enough to do regional visits so she can continue chemo at regional hospital. Trouble is one of her sister's also got diagnosed with cancer this week? How awful is that for the family?

Hugs back to you, you deserve them more than me.

So sorry to hear about your cousin. You are a saint to give up your bed and put up all your relatives while they visit. I hope your cousin gets over the flu very soon so that the chemo can start - the sooner the better, right?

It sounds like writing at lunch has been a nice bit of distraction for you, amidst all this. I'm glad you've had your choice of distractions. I'm looking forward to "S is for Winchester" of course, but also the one with the pie on the side! A good laugh is something I think we could all use!

Take care!

Got my bed back today!!!!!!! Not a saint. But what can you do? You can't say no. Cousin over flu and had first few shots of chemo this week and is being moved to a regional hospital tomorrow closer to her farm so she can do the rest of her treatment from there. Much better outcome for her whole family.

Writing has as usual been my lifeline. KInd of pitiful how closely I clutch my laptop (but hey it doesn't talk back to me!)

Fic coming very soon! Thanks for your patience.
