Keeping It Interesting...

I think the hardest thing that's been encountered this past year, here in our writing communities, has been to keep people writing.  The poor Muse has been blamed continually for the malaise, no inspiration to spark a great story is the common complaint.

It's been like pulling teeth for me to write. (as you well know) I've had little posted, and somethings I've been reposting very old stories and even drabbles, just to get something up to maybe spark interest.

I've no sense of routined, and even today, I forgot to post a picfic prompt. (I will shortly) Last prompt was a bust. even for me.

Things will get better. They have to once we're out and about in the real world.

Ironically, I've written more in this pandemic year than in the 10 years previous. Granted most of it is not in this fandom (I've been swept up in the Inspector Lewis world, in which I was surprised to find a couple of other MFU writers active.) My problem in MFU is that much of the writing is for challenges and my mind doesn't work that way. If I have an idea for a story, it often unfolds in my head and I'll be completely obsessed with it, hardly able to think of anything else. But the ideas show up unannounced and I can't seem to spark them by word or picture prompts.

The challenges are a guide, but non-challenge stories are always welcome.
Please do post stories here whether challenge related or not.
Now, story please😎

Well I have to say that the last time you asked, I got an idea right after. You may be the key! I'm almost done with the last of a big series and when that's done, I'll probably step out of the Lewis world and start thinking about MFU. To be honest, all the photos and polls and round table discussions here and on uncle_du_jour have been very helpful in that regard.
