*waves* Er, hello. I have been here but not here. For the past week my brain has been absolutely taken over by two gay boys from a German soap opera called Verbotene Liebe (Forbidden Love). I blame snegurochka_lee. *shakes fist in most loving way possible ( Read more... )

thanks for all the recs! i feel compelled to point out that it's actually "verbotenE liebe", meaning you're missing an "e" in the title there.

Urgh, thank you -- it's so new to me I haven't even figured out how to spell it yet. *facepalm* Fixed!

lol It's so funny to see the whole world obsessed with our little German soap. I guess no one was more surprised than the guys themselves. But, they are just so gorgeous together, it's hard to resist. =)

They are ridiculously gorgeous together. And I must confess, I can't resist Christian. As I told brianswalk earlier today, I tend to fall for beautiful men who brood. (Hence the appeal of Brian Kinney. *g*)

Another thing that's been lovely to see is how functional a relationship they have once they finally get together. Sure, they have their problems, but they talk about them and work them out, and it's obvious how much they love and respect each other. It's kind of relaxing to watch after all the stress of Brian and Justin. :-P

They really are relaxing to watch, that's so true. I love how supportive they are of each other, especially Olli when it comes to Christian's career. And it's very cute that they can't keep their hands off each other.
I've never been much into this soap, but now I loosely follow Christian's and Olli's story via the great blog of the "gays of daytime". http://gaydaytime.blogspot.com/ They pretty much cover the important gay storyline in daily soaps all over the world.

Yes, Olli is very supportive of Christian's career, though I do hope that the writers will eventually give Olli some career ambitions of his own. Not that there's anything wrong with working in a restaurant, but I can't imagine him wanting to do that forever, you know?

Ooh, I have heard of that blog! In fact, I think I was on their message boards last night looking for Christian/Oliver fanfic. (I have barely found any, and what's out there is generally not very good. :-/)

I know, right? There's not much skin, but the music and the way the scene is shot and the emotional intimacy between them just take my breath away!

Yes, I guess I could've given a little context, huh? All you really need to know is that Christian (the guy who holed himself up in his room) always considered himself straight, but Olli (who is bi) kissed him a while back and pretty much turned his world upside down. Christian fought his feelings for a while, but Olli was beautifully patient and the gay true love won out in the end. :-P

eee! thanks for the rec! imo, my art doesn't even come close to that of the moon's significant tremble (and both stories are so different, heh, it's so weird for me to compare them), but the fact that you think it is makes me so giddy. :D

Aw, you're welcome! I actually thought of The Moon's Significant Tremble right away. The stories are definitely very different in style and tone, but the way the art is integrated so beautifully is quite similar, I think. :-)
