This next installment in my Queer as Folk character series is dedicated to the lovely foreverbm in honor of her birthday. Viv, I know you're Michael's biggest fan -- I hope I've managed to capture a few of the things you love about him. Happy birthday! Thanks for being one of the kindest and most generous folks in the fandom. ♥

He learns that when you lose a hero...
you need to create a new one...
or, better yet, become one yourself.
He grows from a boy...
into a man...
(with a little detour along the way).
He realizes that it takes the wrong guy...
to help you appreciate the right one.
He knows that true friends forgive each other...
encourage each other...
and hide each other's dildos.
When it comes to those he loves, he's willing to go on the run...
or to stay and fight with everything he's got.
At first he believes "it's all about sex"...
then he realizes it's all about family...
but he knows that what will never change is the old thumpa thumpa.
