Ugh, you guys, I've been trying to get stuff done, but my weekend has been totally eaten by a TV show. Has anyone else seen Noah's Arc? It was a series on Logo a few years back -- seventeen 22-minute episodes plus a follow-up movie. (If you have Netflix, you can stream all of it online; otherwise I think it's only on DVD.) I watched one or two epis if I was flipping through channels, but I never ignited. My So Called Life, on the other hand, I own.

My penalty for editing is to tell you a joke:

How many Neandrathal does it take to start a fire?

Ahhh, My So-Called Life! I love that show so much. And the ending was the most torturous cliffhanger ever. D-:

I have no idea! How many? (Speaking of cliffhangers. *eagerly awaits the punchline*)

OMG, after decades (literally) of telling that joke, I decided to look up the information in the punchline to fact check because i was posting it on line and had this sudden sense that my punchline had to be accurate and come to find out, it's not! I heard the joke so long ago and of course, it's a joke!, who bothers to fact check a joke!? So now, I have told this joke for decades and decades and millions (dozens) of people think something that is not true, and I have been the spreader of bad information - like a slow-moving virus. Oy.

The punchline is:

None. Neandrathals didn't have fire, Cro Magnon did.

You know what I just thought of? Maybe, just maybe, when I first heard the joke, they had not yet made the discovery that Neandrathals had fire. Yes, that must be it. Has to be.

Ahahahaha! Well, I sure as hell wouldn't have known the difference if you hadn't told me, so you've taught me something today. Maybe that will start to make up your karma for spreading false info all these years. ;-)
