Before I saw your flashfly-specific rec, my brain was already ticking - should I read this original story? And that came solely from you having to blink the tears out of your eyes. Thank you for thinking of me. I will read it. I look forward to a discussion with you and justinlovesart.
You MUST read Open, Agassi's autobiography. I heard an interview with him and Bob Edwards yesterday (the book came out in paperback yesterday) and Agassi was so wonderful in everything he had to say that I immediately ran to the bookstore. I am on page 195 -stayed up until 5:30 AM reading. Such a great tennis book but more than that, he is a super writer - funny and oh so, so, poignant. He loves poetry! You must read it, really.
Ooh! Sounds right up my alley. I put a hold on it at my local library -- they've got a bajillion copies and they're all checked out at the mo. This might be a good vacation read, actually...
That original work stunned me. It was amazing and overwhelming. I couldn't stop reading it and then, when I was done, I realized that hours had passed, my stomach was knotted and my head hurt from tears I hadn't realized I was crying. I had a mark on my hand from biting at my finger as I read further into the grief.
Oh dear, I didn't mean to make anyone feel left out! I thought of those two in particular because I know how much they love art, and we've discussed death fic before too. But I'm glad you read it and enjoyed it as well. ♥
That icon is so adorable! ♥ And yeah, this fandom has some fantastic vids. I think it helps that the show itself is filmed so stylishly, with all those loving shots of NYC. Plus Neal is prettier than God, LOL.
