Thanks so much to rickey_a for the shiny glitterati sunglasses in my profile! *puts them on and attempts to look cool*

For the Star Trek folks out there, I had to share this glee-making TOS macro, which has so far made me laugh out loud five times (ie every single time I've looked at it). I found it via jlh, but I don't know who made it -- so if you do, ( Read more... )

question, thank you, rec me

LOLzzzz

I have a 'to read' folder in my memories of flist stuff I want to read and recs or fic searches that look enticing. I probably get to 50%. Sometimes I come back later and end up passing, but I often go on reading binges from that list. :)

I have a "fic to read" category in my memories too! Some of the links have been there over a year now, I think. *cries*

*snickersnort*

Uh... I open it in a tab and leave it open for days weeks months and then guiltily close it.

I manage to actually read such fic maybe one time in four, I think?

Perfect icon. ;-)

Often I'll leave tabs open for a few days or a week, and then if they're still around at that point I'll chuck 'em in my LJ memories under "fic to read." And then they might sit there for weeks, months, or even a year. *headdesk* In general, the longer the fic, the longer it'll sit.

*DIES*

Oh, I'm bad about going back and reading fics that I've bookmarked, though my intentions are good. Sometimes, if I know I'm going to have time later, and I really want to read that fic that day, I'll email the URL to myself.

Do you prefer TOS!Spock/McCoy or AOS? I think I have a few TOS recs saved.

Jim's expression in the fourth panel just kills me. *giggles again*

I would say I manage to read at least half of what I bookmark, but sometimes it's weeks or months after it's been posted, which makes me feel like a schmuck. Better late than never though?

I don't read enough of it to have a preference, honestly. I'll take whatever you've got that's good. :-D

As a writer, I can say that feedback is lovely and welcome whenever it shows up!

Okay, recs. These are the only two I could find. I thought I had more. :(

Do Vulcans Dream of Electric Doctors? by neigedens. Set during "The Search for Spock."

Old Acquaintance by yahtzee63. This one is actually set during TNG (so it helps if you're familiar with the series, but you don't need to be) and ... NGL, it's sad. It made me cry. But I really liked it.

Also, I've written some. *has no shame*

Thank you!! I will check them out (though it has been years since I saw The Search for Spock).

And yay for self-pimping! I've probably read any newer Spock/McCoy of yours if you posted it since I friended you, but I will take a look to see if I've missed any. ;-)

Even though I don't share this computer, I don't like leaving tabs open forever because they start to weigh on me. I hate looking up and seeing 80 million tabs open in 25 windows. :-D

I do the memory thing too, but I have some that have been bookmarked for over a year now. *weeps*

Lol, I forwarded the pics to my brother! He'll love it!

I bookmark, and I try to go back over the upcoming weekend but it rarely works out that way. I get upset by things I've bookmarked, and then can't figure out why I thought it was important to start with, lol!

Haha, awesome!

That sounds like an orderly system, trying to use the weekends to catch up on bookmarks. (Assuming one's weekends are free.) But why do you get upset by things you bookmark??

Sometimes I can't get back to my bookmarks for weeks, and then the item I wanted is no longer at the top of the page and I just can't be bothered to go searching for whatever it was I thought looked interesting 3 weeks ago! Lol, maybe it's my crappy organizational skills!

Oh, LOL. I can see how that would be irritating!
