Fluttershy had never considered herself particularly nosy; really, she certainly hadn't ever wanted to bother anyone who didn't want her around. Being a nuisance or overbearing was something she was often worrying about, all she wanted was to make sure no one thought of her as rude.

But that didn't stop her from being curious, now and again ( ... )

The interference in this city was notoriously hard on death ray-level technology, that was one thing Megamind had learned very quickly. So far, directed bolts of electricity had worked out just fine but anything beyond that simply shorted out... or exploded fantastically. This should fix all of that.

He had spent hours on the calculations, determining how best to compensate for the interference in directed energy weapons. It was still terribly primitive by his standards but as long as it worked....

"On final adjustment and... done!" He shut the final panel on the oversized rifle and stood back, holding it ready. "Now I just have to test it and-- GAAH!"

That shout came when he caught sight of Fluttershy hovering just outside his window. Just... floating there outside his secret lair! The crash that followed came from him jumping in surprise and teetering over from the extra weight, falling into a pile of loose parts.

Her head tilted to one side as Megamind held up whatever he was working on; now, she wasn't all that familiar with these sorts of things, but that looked really very--

Once Megamind's eyes fell on her, though, she jumped, and he apparently did the same. Fluttershy gave a squeak as he toppled over. "Oh--I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to--are you all..." It occurred to her belatedly that he couldn't actually hear her through the glass, and conflict welled up--should she just go? He obviously hadn't been expecting anyone to see him here, but... well, she couldn't leave without apologizing, it would be just rude, wouldn't it...

"I, um, I'm sorry, hold on..." Fluttershy flew up, towards the roof, where there must have been an entrance of some sort. Surprisingly enough, there were some really nice-looking landing pads up there; she'd have to let Rainbow Dash know about it. Oh! But that wasn't important right now ( ... )
