She was about half-way down to the basement. Toph didn't trust the elevators, so she took the stairs. With the speed Toph was going though, it wuoldn't be long before she would get to her destination.

Link was kind of surprised that she noticed him, as he had gotten pretty good at sneaking around without being spotted. Then again, Toph didn't see like normal people, so sneaking around her was well nigh impossible.

"Look, I'm really, really bored, and I can't stand this stupid hotel any longer. I'm goin' to the basement and making a tunnel to go out to some places around here so I don't die of boredom." Yup. That was her plan. Make a tunnel so she wouldn't freeze or need an escort outside and explore the city a bit more. Besides, they might find something interesting for once.

"You-you're gonna make a tunnel under the hotel?" That sounded kind of dangerous, actually, granted Link didn't know much about the structural integrity of buildings, but he couldn't imagine tunneling under the basement was a good idea.

Toph continued down stairs and made it to the lobby where she weaved through the crowds of people and headed towards the basement. There was a sign posted that read, 'Personnel Only,' but Toph couldn't read, and even if she could, she didn't really care. The door was unlocked, and Toph opened it, walking down more stairs to get to a nice spot in the basement where she could start bending a tunnel without the building sustaining any damage.

Unfortunately, Link still couldn't read English, so he couldn't warn Toph about the sign. But let's face it, the fake people that inhabited this world wouldn't even notice the oddly dressed children in the basement.
