Jennifer came to the holiday dinner without anything in her hands, but in a short sleeved peasant blouse and jeans, so that she would be able to wash dishes later. Her hair was pulled up in a ponytail, her glasses on her nose as she walked in, suitably impressed. She was simply torn now between sitting down to eat, or making sure there were plenty of dishes and silverware while others ate.

He hadn't meant to come to Charity's Thanksgiving shindig, but true to form, everything was closed for Thanskgiving, so here Thomas was. He eyed the spread with interest, and transferred the look to the woman standing by. He didn't recognize her, must be new.

"Is this the part where I kiss the cook?" he asked with an easy grin as he leaned against the table.

"I believe she's in the kitchen if you feel the need."

Jennifer turned away from the spread she had been looking over when the male voice washed over her like a satin down quilt against bare flesh. She turned to see an incredibly attractive man leaning against the table near to where she had been standing, oozing charm and sex appeal.

He reminded her of Eros.

She clamped down firmly on She-Hulk, who was itching to come out and say "hello."

"Mrs. Carpenter has done a wonderful job though. Everything is amazing, and she doesn't even know some of us."

The mention of Charity Carpenter was enough to get Thomas to behave. A little. "Somehow I don't think Mrs. Carpenter would appreciate the attention," he replied. Thomas reached for a bowl of mashed potatoes and swiped some, licking it off his finger with a grin at the woman.

"That's Charity Carpenter. The model of Christian kindness." There was, surprisingly, no sarcasm in Thomas' voice at the statement. The woman had invited him to dinner, knowing full well what he was, having made no bones about her disapproval, but because he had helped her family. It was something even he had to respect and admire. "But speaking of people we don't know... Should I call you beautiful all night?"

Yue walked into the room dressed... politely, it was a holiday well respected in this country. So she definitely should dress a bit nicer than what she would wear to go out for fun. It was a nice coat and a nice skirt and blouse underneath it. ...Ruined entirely by the bundled sword and broom she had on her back. Her magic wasn't feeling top form so she didn't want to worry about summoning her blade.

She picked a table near a wall, so she could put her bundled items down and lean them up against something. Then her coat hung neatly on the back of her chair. Yue looked around, she hoped there were as many drink options as there were food options. However, the food did look very nice. There were a lot of people, such a crowd seemed... comforting. In a sense, it was fuzzy.

Maureen showed up in something more conservative than what she's used to... A nice black top, orange scarf and some skinny jeans. She makes her way over to the food, dropping off the case of beer she had as an offering, before glancing around.

It was just Valentine's Day back home... She wasn't ready for Thanksgiving yet, and damn it she'd missed Halloween all together. She pressed her lips together in a firm line before she surveyed the table. She refused to think about everyone else... How they'd love all of this....

It didn't matter. They weren't here.

Despite his reservations, Ebenezar had dropped the wards around the Blackstone for the occasion and proceeded to keep busy by offering his help with the preparations. That had been about six hours and a mountain of potatoes ago, by his reckoning. "'Scuse me, miss," he said to the woman standing by watching as he swung back into the room, juggling three pies in his arm. "Pie coming through."

The voice sort of tore her from her thoughts and moved out of the way. "Right... Sorry..." she said quickly.

"Ah... Do you need help or anything?" she asked, watching the older man balance the pies precariously.

"I'd appreciate it if you could get the pumpkin one," Ebenezar answered, nodding to the pie that was nestled precariously into the crook of his elbow. It was probably a minor miracle he managed to get it this far. "Ain't mean to interrupt your ruminating though."

Fleur practically glided into the room, her lips in a bright smile and pretty much emitting rays of sunshine if that were entirely possible. She loved holidays, even ones that she wasn't all that familiar with. Still, it was a reason to get together with others... To enjoy a meal with several people... And since arriving, she had felt extremely cut off.

The young witch was dressed to the nines as per usual, her skinny jeans tucked into her knee high boots. She wore a white blouse, almost sheer but not quite, underneath a power blue wrap, which swirled around her with every step she took. Her platinum blonde hair bounced with every step and she called out to anyone that looked her way and cheerful, "Bonjour!"

Reaching the table of food, she set down the Chestnut Soup she had prepared and the bottle of dessert wine tucked under her arm.

Winry glanced up from her apple pies as Fleur reached the table. "Oh, that smells good!"

Fleur flashed a smile over at the other woman and pushed her hair behind her ear. "Ah! Merci, ma cherie. Chestnut soup... A traditional french recipe I thought uzzers would enjoy..."

"Oh?" Winry wondered if the soup was something for dessert. Her dad had roasted chestnuts for her mom and her when she was a little girl, and she'd always thought they looked a little like the illustrations of brains in her parents' medical books. "I'm looking forward to trying it!"

She remembered the other young woman's accent and a few seconds later, a name came to her to go with the accent. Still, she posed it as a question, just to be on the safe side. "You're Fleur, right?"

Winry had been up early, preparing food. She'd made four pies, hoping that might be enough, and considered adding stew to the menu, deciding against it when Mrs. Carpenter and she tore through a few loaves of bread for dressing. Winry did make a batch of bread pudding, leaving off the bourbon hard sauce in case one of the younger kids and making a caramel glaze for it instead.

The table seemed overflowing with food when she added her last pie to it, and Winry took a step back from it, pleased with the display.

Winry appeared to be enjoying the party and had done a lot to help set things up. Derek waited until she no longer was busy before walking up to her.

With a nod as a greeting, he said, "Been a while. How have you been doing?" He hoped things had improved since then.

"Oh, Derek!" Winry smiled at him, glad to see him. "It has been a while." She considered. "I've made some prototype weapons for Harry, and finished Ed's automail.

"You?"

Ed, right. The guy who Winry made the Halloween plate for. Sounded like he was doing better than before.

Derek thought back to the past few days. "Doing a lot reading at the library lately. Broke routine a little." Other than that, and the pirate trip, there hadn't been much new.
