Winry couldn't quite settle. There were too many things she wanted to talk to the brothers about and Ed had invited those other boys - more alchemist brothers? She wondered how they'd all met - wondered if anyone would actually tell her. How many secrets did Ed carry with him, now that he was two years older than Al and her?
And Al...he looked so bad. Even though Mrs. Carpenter had gotten him some egg toast, that wasn't enough. And Winry knew Al couldn't eat very much at a given time, it'd just come back up, so she'd have to cosset him with food.
Still, a promise was a promise and she'd told Al she'd make him a pie. Ed kept his promises, it was time for her to keep hers, minor on the grand scale of things that they might be. "I'm going to make a pie," she announced.
Al sat down next to Ed, looking over his shoulder and reading the notes. They'd procured some clothing for him and it was very baggy. At least it stayed on though, and it did hide some of his boniness. He could tell that both Ed and Winry were worried about how thin he was, but if he was alright in Ed's time, then surely he'd be alright now. His long hair was currently being held back by a tie. Hopefully he could get it cut soon so it wouldn't be in the way anymore.
He glanced up when Winry made her announcement. "... Apple pie?" he asked with a light grin. He could at least have a little bit...
Ed couldn't help grinning and looking up at Winry's announcement. "That sounds good. Make sure to make enough for Russel and Fletcher, or they'll whine that they didn't get any."
Russel led the way up to Ed's room, and knocked. He'd already started to get comfortable, and was wearing khakis and a pale blue shirt instead of his usual black and white. But the sleeves were rolled up, same as ever. "Hey, it's us." He called through the door.
