Chewing on her lower lip, Winry glanced down at the bucket full of masks, then back at the decorations. Starr had been kind enough to ask her to go shopping earlier, and, though they'd never actually gotten the chance to go out, Winry thought this might be a better way to get to know her - and the other people around.
Maybe.
Reaching into the bucket, she picked a mask - purple, with a curl of fluffy feathers off one side - and entered the ballroom.

Derek caught sight of her as he hung around the refreshment table nibbling on a cookie. Hoping he wouldn't be disturbing her, he calmly walked up to her. His coffee mug now filled with punch came with him.
"Hi, I'm Derek. Thought I'd better introduce myself after earlier."

He looked up for a clock in the ballroom. However, then he realized that wouldn't help him because he hadn't checked what time it was when he arrived... not that his watch would've matched this place's time. "Yeah, about two hours or so at most maybe."

She understood the precautions, but couldn't help but wrinkle her nose slightly at the garlic as she passed. This was going to be a good night, without any troubles... If she had any say about it. Her wand tucked down into her cleavage, she made her way around the room, inspecting hers and Starr's handiwork, smiling slightly.

She tugged anxiously on her witch hat and glanced around. While social situations didn't make her anxious, she was still wary of everyone here... Until she could learn to trust them.

She wanted to be of service to the people so she was currently leaving her baseball bat to one side and carrying around a tray of drinks. Mingling and providing service, two birds with one stone.
"Hello, care for a drink," Starr asked with a kind smile.

She picked one of the drinks off of the tray, inspecting it discretely. She couldn't help but be rather paranoid here, really. "Did you set this up?" she asked softly, attempting small talk.

"Yes. I had some help though," Starr admitted, not wanting to take credit away from Fleur. She realized she hadn't met with this woman before so decided to introduce herself as well, "I'm Starr by the way. What's your name?"

Carefully replacing the smirk with as innocent a look as she could muster (which was quite manageable with her large doe eyes), she made her way slowly towards the refreshments.

He headed towards the door, glad that his Phantom of the Opera costume, complete with cape and mask, allowed him a little extra theatricality - especially since it seemed he'd be dealing with a woman. Women on the hunt were, in his experience, a lot more dangerous than men. "Good evening," he greeted her with a sweeping bow.

She could have him on his knees... A much more respectable greeting... But there were too many people around for her to even consider chancing it. She was, after all, greatly outnumbered. "To you as well," she replied carefully, keeping a steady eye on him.

Of course, surviving it would be nice too.
He rose out of his bow, making sure his charming smile was perfectly in place. "To whom do I owe the pleasure?" His lack of a strong singing voice had kept him off Broadway, but never let it be said that J couldn't act.

Link looked at the decorations around the room, most of them reminded him of the monsters he encountered throughout Hyrule. This wasn't like any of the festivals he had been to in Hyrule, and he was a little intimidated because of that. He didn't even know where to start.

He'd had to go shopping a few days earlier to take care of the costume part. It had taken some time to figure out what he'd be going as, and in the end, it was as obvious as day. So he went out and got himself a nice brown suit and tie, and spent at least a full day walking around and sleeping in it - and maybe rolling in the dirt and grass in the park, but that was more for fun than anything - to get the thing up to par. And by some stroke of luck, he'd found a fake mustache and a wand at the local costume shop, and with his hair left unbrushed, the look was finished.
The costume was a good enough likeness, Billy told himself as he joined the party. And it was perfect for him, if anyone knew him well enough to get the joke. Remus Lupin really was a good fit for him, even if he didn't have to ( ... )

"Oh, I'm... I'm not wearing a costume, sir," He said with a sheepish grin.

Hey, it was Halloween. Why shouldn't he let the kid have a little fun while he could?
