A phage fled down a side road but was soon cleaved in two by the downward swing of an ax. The being dissipated and, as it did, Jason brought the ax back to rest on his shoulder. He wished he could get in contact with camp but he had never learned their phone number and Chicago was a little far for them to be sending help to. Of course, he had to wonder if this was even the same reality as his camp and the Chicago, United States, or Earth he knew. He'd seen signs of it going either way but, unfortunately, being here still seemed to have a dampening effect on his ability...but at least he wasn't quite human anymore.

Jason turned to look at the skies and noticed an impossible looking owl swoop back towards the library. Was that what had driven the phage towards his location? Well, there was only one way to find out. Jason lowered the ax and started running towards the library.

With the people of the city proving to be less than inclined to actually pay attention to what she was saying, Iskierka had decided to take to the skies once again. Unfortunately, the city as a whole was almost uniquely designed to not really accommodate dragons and - more importantly - the wingspans that came with them. It was a problem she somewhat grudgingly come to accept, along with acquiring a rather unique mental map of the city (dragons had to land somewhere after all).

Not that Iskierka particularly cared about this, of course. What she cared about just at the moment was the flash of sunlight off a flying bit of metal she'd spotted. She'd never heard of capital flying before, and that alone was more than enough to catch her interest, as she turned to follow this strange new thing on its path through the city. It would have to land somewhere.

[One of the owls makes its way back to the Chicago Public Library, perching on one of the four corners of the library and letting out another loud hoot that can be heard for blocks around]

[Standing near the north entrance of the library is a white-haired man, his expression remarkably tired and grim.]

That'll do for right now until they arrive.

The owl landed and let out a hoot that startled even Jason. He frowned up at it because jeeze could that thing make a racket. He had been so close to the building that it had made his ears ring for a few seconds. Jason shook his head and his attention drifted towards the man standing at the nearby entrance.

Jason couldn't think of much else to do so he ran towards him. When he got closer Jason recognized him as one of the wizards or whatever from that town meeting. He pulled up short of the entrance, "What's going on and what can I do to help?"
