[Just as Copperfield had said, it suddenly becomes clear that something unnatural and magical is taking place in the skies surrounding the Chicago Public Library. Four gigantic greenish-gray owls with glowing red eyes are swooping back and forth, letting out hoots that cause windows to vibrate and for car alarms to go off. The sounds also seem to drive back the phages that are still attacking the masses, allowing their victims to make a run for it.
In their hurry, no one seems to have noticed that four aluminum owls that are usually perched on the roof of the library have vanished...]
