Parking ticket

Couple of days ago I got a parking ticket near Seattle Center at 8:54pm (the time indicated on the ticket itself). When I checked the street for signs - there were none that said anything about parking in the area, and the pay-to-park machine said that I can pay for parking 8am to 6pm Mon-Sat. Well, the 8am-6pm Mon-Sat are the hours for free parking in city spots. Are you sure there wasn't some confusing about where to pay for the spot you parked in? Republic Parking Northwest would indicated a for-profit lot. They never have free parking hours.

It sounds like you parked in a private lot (run by Republic), not on the street (run by the City). Two different things.

Thanks, I just realized that.
If it was a parking ticket issued by the city it would have City of Seattle on it, not Republic Northwest.

So, I'm terribly curious where you were parked that a pay lot looked like it was street parking. The only thing I can think is that little stretch north of the EMP that sort of looks like a road with angle parking on it.

Were you parked on the street? It doesn't make sense that a private lot company could give you a ticket on any street parking spot.

This is tangential, but in lower Queen Anne they have some wacky city street parking hours that extend beyond 6pm (to best get money out of the unsuspecting tourists I suppose). It is best to be very clear on the hours before leaving your vehicle.
