Why this huge transformation regarding guilt over Ben/Glory? what else could Spike have done? How could he let this great opportunity to destroy Glorificus go by.

Why this huge transformation regarding guilt over Ben/Glory?

My take is that Spike-with-a-soul-for-the-last-100-years feels really bad about killing an innocent, even though he knew it was necessary. He'd do it again, but he is never going to like it. He's got a lot on his conscience, even if he doesn't mope around in exactly the same way that Angel did. This, less damaged, Buffy understands that about him. She'd feel much the same, were their situations reversed.

However, by whatever means, Buffy is able to make Spike happy. So now he doesn't feel the weight of his crimes so heavily. Yay?

Heh. No Mint Milanos in your life? That's too bad. They are moderately delicious. I used them as something that Glorificus would enjoy and keep from her acolytes from enjoying - like frappucinos and Victoria's Secret. None of those things are particularly hard to come by, and their quality is arguable. The wide-eyed rapture they inspire just amused me. *shrug*

Ooh! You're up to no good, with this strangely carefree Spike. A nice, neat ending - but one with a definite sting in the tail. And Scurvy may turn out to be useful asset, no?

I do wonder what Buffy would do with a small army of acolytes. I'm guessing post-Slayage clean-up will be a snap from now on! If she can't manage to wiggle out of being their object of worship, I know she'll be a much kinder and gentler mistress than they had before. And she'll probably have the Pepperidge Farm bakery warehouse on speed dial.

I like your wording - "sting in the tail". It might not be a fatal sting, but it's bound to cause a bit of pain down the line.
