I already love this story to death. :)

Great premise to explore the characters' behavior in extreme situation. Spuffy banter is delicious, but I have the impression that it's just a prelude for much darker stuff.

Thanks, Elena! You know how much I love to write Spuffy banter--it comes all too easily. I think that's why I love writing Season 5 Spuffy so much--it's very much a banter time for them.

Ooops! I guess that spell went a little haywire...

She blinks and shakes her head, eyes strained wide as she processes his words. “…did you just call me fat?!”

“Pfft, nothing wrong with a little meat on a woman. And it’s not like I’m trying to be insulting, it’s just…” He eyes her belly, his gaze trailing up to leer at her full breasts. He gives her a knowing look. “You’re huge, pet, and you know it.”>

Killer or martyr-you’re only one until you’re the other?

I like this line as a description of the Slayer. And as usual, Buffy wants option #3.

Also, Spike should know if he values his life, he should never call her fat. :)

Thanks. Yeah, it felt like those were the two options the show was giving--kill the monsters until she eventually sacrifices herself. Buffy always wants option #3.

Spike's kinda like a kindergartener here--he thinks punching the girl he likes on the playground shows he loves her.
