Very nice 'what if' story. I'm pretty sure Spike knew about this custom. He did study slayers. [I don't know about Angel.]

Favorite line:
There are certain places in the world that, whatever country you’re in, have the same ambience. A library is one of those. School libraries are even better. {Maybe it's the paper.}

Thanks! I love writing "what ifs" ... and when I get organised you will find out about Angel, as well!

Clever twist on a favorite episode. Though I miss Buffy outwitting both the crazy-vampire and the council of watchers!!

Thank you!

Well, if I ever get round to it, the Council of Watchers (and the vampire) are still to be faced!

Nice what-if! Yes Spike already had it bad for Buffy and I doubt he would have been happy with what Giles was doing (or ignorant of it for that matter...he got his PHD in Slayerology after all!)

“Yeah, Slayer. We’ve established it’s me." LOL Just the right amount of snark tempered with fondness there.

"How about I just stake you, then I can walk quietly home without worrying about what you are doing.” This is very Buffylike in any season LOL (Okay not S7 so much). I can hear the empty threat falling from her lips as she walks along him knowing full well she is safe.

"but the greater part of him was glad that he had the perfect excuse to save the girl who he thought of as a daughter. “I’ll stop the ritual; she will soon recover her strength.” Yes! Giles would be glad for any excuse to stop this. He was ready to rebel for Buffy at his point (too bad he became so "official Council" over the years!). I like this Giles.

Nicely done, pet!

Thank you Kathleen, it means a lot when people whose work I love enjoy my scribbles.

Will admit I enjoyed writing that Spike line, myself!
