Thank you so much, everyone who commented on my last post. It means a lot to me. And you'll be relieved to hear that later that day I had a whole breakdown/cryfest that resolved a lot of the lingering issues, and I have been up and about for well over a week. If you love Bradley even a little, you really really need to watch both the cast diaries from Season 1, they're absolutely brilliant. And yeah, I got into Merlin through delicious first, and then someone had the eps for d/l and I just got carried away...

Between the various across-the-pond accents, the pranks, and the occasional use of French, I basically spent the whole time laughing and then melting and then laughing some more. I particularly love the way Bradley would be all "Don't fear, Merlin fans!" with this sort of ironic laugh, as if he didn't believe that said fans would ever exist and felt rather ridiculous talking to them. It makes me want to give him a hug.

MERLIN IS LOVE. although i am much, much more on the "OMG COLIN" side than the "OMG BRADLEY" side. :D

I like Colin Morgan, too, and more as himself more than as Merlin (woo, stubble and slightly out of control haircuts and Irish accents and dark senses of humor!). But Bradley is extremely good-looking and also the bigger not-so-secret dork, and also an utter, utter doofus. Liking Bradley James is a continual exercise in toeing the line between blind lust and affectionate despair. You've gone the more respectable route, and I salute you.

Liking Bradley James is a continual exercise in toeing the line between blind lust and affectionate despair.-- HEE! i will admit that i haven't seen the DVD extras, so my judgment isn't based on actor personalities, just their roles on the show and shallow looks-department stuff, lol. (Veoh and youtube are great, but... not that great. alternatively, the extras were reported and taken down by the time i got there, woe!)

I'd suggest running and not walking over to merlin_eps because the cast diaries are A++ hilarious and amazing.

Failed? I said, "It's X + Death Note + Evangelion" and you took that to mean it'd be happy fluffy bunny anime. It's not my fault you are obviously not well-versed in anime culture outside of your bubble of shoujo.

However, I've heard the show doesn't really get truly awesome until like, season 5 or so? <-- this is a lie. Actually, I think it peaks in season 3, at which point you can start watching Angel which is a better show anyway. That is a controversial opinion, but I guarantee that no Buffy fan will tell you that seasons 5, 6, 7 are the best of the series. The problem with Buffy is that there's so much of it, so the quality is variable - there are really good and really horrible episodes throughout. You're watching it in order, in a very short time period, so I think the crappy parts seem really obvious. If we had given you a sample of really good episodes to watch first, I bet you would've gotten hooked and the crappy episodes wouldn't seem so crappy because you'd be watching them as a fan ( ... )

I've only seen, like, the first three episodes of Merlin, but so far, it's pretty awesome. And I find it a little disturbing that Bradley James looks so much like a kid I used to go to school with, but meh, he's sexy anyway.

I meant to get into Buffy when I found out that James Marsters played Spike, but I just watched Angel instead. xD
