Day 5 (2006/05/30): Dear God, Why Can't He Be the King of Pants?

Today I went to Uni Qlo to buy some pants. When I left, I had some jogging outfits, a jinbei and matching slippers, and a nice pair of 3/4 shorts. I also restocked some vittles and bought Vinnk some dish soap.

After that, Vinnk and I hit up Famicom Dojo again. I love this store. If anyone remembers from the last time I went, it turned out that I didn't get Zelda II after all, and Kid Icarus (at least, I think it's Kid Icarus) didn't work. Hiro offered me two or three games to replace them, and I got a whole bunch of Famicom carts, including one I know phil_bond will love me forever for getting (with his whole body [even his pee-pee]). Hint -- it has something to do with Cassandra's oddball outfit.

As I was saying, I got away with a pretty good haul, including (what I thought was) ドラキュラ, or the Japanese release of Castlevania... on the disk system.

DUDE. I was so stoked, I ran back to Vinnk's place to try it out.

It was Zelda II.

The label on the disk clearly said Dracula, but the actual information had been overwritten with Zelda II. Even better, the insert was for a completely different, third game. I really wanted Castlevania, like so much you couldn't even believe it. I would have been fine without Zelda II, because I had bought the super-sexy GBA-release. It's pretty sweet, because it's a port of the Disk System version, with all the same enhanced sound effects and even artificial load screens that mimic the original. The differences between it and the US version are many, and I plan to do a whole series of such reviews for Powet.TV.

I still haven't bought any pants.

...

See, it'd be funnier if I left it there, but let me explain.

...okay, there really isn't much to say except that I'm a tall white guy who likes baggy pants, and I'm currently in Japan. Ain't gonna happen.
