Lightning Round: Potpourri

1) A story from Sabrina's neck of the woods.

2) My guitar came yesterday. Now to figure out how to get the tremelo working. Note: I still love my delicious bass to death, and it's still my instrument of choice (for instance, I'm actually able to play it), but the desire to rock out is just too strong not to have the avenue open to me.

3) Okay, ( Read more... )

I just now got off the phone with my friend Anjen with the information on the Music Box Theatre information ready to send you but I see you've found it on your own. You're right, it's not in Rosemont but close enough for anyone going to Acen to take a couple hours & see TF:TM. The Musicbox has two screens like the Orpheum & they play their midnite movies at the same time so if there are two movies you want to see playing on the same night you're outta luck. I don't think I'll make it to Rocky this week as I'll either be sick or watching a friend's band play in brodhead.

P.S. Blanket, blah blah blah. 100,000 pesos blah blah blah, paper bag blah blah no cops. Blah, blah blah never see it again blah blah.

Yeah, on a hunch I decided to check that Rocky cast I'd been avoiding up until now. Lo and behold, it was the very same.

(I could use Lindsay's adorable "So Very Ashamed" icon right about now...)

I miss that blanket.

Why had you been avoiding that Rocky cast?

On another note, I love the Tomo userpic. I spent ages trying to pause that episode at the right point so I could accurately reproduce her outfit. I wore the outfit when matt_william & I went to Japan last summer... No-one noticed. I still have the hat tho'.

Thanks! (I stole it)

And I couldn't remember her name for the life of me, so double-thanks!

I haven't gone to that Rocky showing before because I was never terribly interested in driving that close to downtown by myself -- more traffic-averse than anything else. Ick.

Wait... you're still alive? That's the last time I hire a belgian to do anything besides make me waffles.

Ps. Darkness just released a new album like 4 months ago.

OH MY GOD! And the cover is gorgeous!

But how can this be? There aren't any crazy popular videos, and no one is talking about it!

I think I'll be stopping by Target today!

I don't know if I think the artwork is gorgeous, but it's one of the best titles ever.

Hey, has anybody committed to coming down for Rocky this weekend? I'd love to go, but I really want to avoid driving, largely because I don't want to trust my car for the road trip.

Would it help if I sweetened the deal with a free curry dinner? I hope that "a place to crash" was implied in all of that.

Oh, I was counting on the crashing.

A nice curry dinner would be lovely, but again, I do not trust my car all the way down and back. I'm hoping someone else can be roped into driving. Naturally (selfishly), I assume this responsibility would fall to Jim, but I wouldn't want him to do it if he's worried about his health.

He told me he wouldn't be going anywhere this weekend.

But that's okay, because I know there are plenty of you who'd love to come down! :D
