Hi, it's good to see you. The novel sounds consuming! Fandom might be a welcome exercise for the brain, ha. What fandom*s* do you tackle? :)

Hi Pronker!

My heart really belongs to Dungeons and Dragons Cartoon. But I've had a lot of fun with Star Wars, the Prequel trilogy (which I think is how we met!), as well as Ironside and Poirot. I did do a little bit of Life on Mars for a while. I've done other little bits for Yuletide. I think I even wrote some "the Mummy" fics, and Defenders of the Earth.

It was the SW ficfest that I joined in with all those years ago that really reminded me that fandom was fun; we wrote, we shared and we had a good time reading things we all enjoyed, from the whole SW spectrum. I found all my original notes, with the prompts I liked the sound of and my scribbles through re-watching the three films directly afterwards.

Recently I've enjoyed watching *looks embarassed* My Little Pony, Friendship is magic. In my defense, I visit my sister and nephew once a week at the moment, and it's often on while we have tea. Plus, it's really well constructed. That's my excuse, anyway.

Sorry, seemed to have rambled in this comment!

Cartoons! Not much of a fandom life without 'em! pronker June 4 2017, 17:10:51 UTC
Yes, we met via Star Wars and I recc'd a story of yours on crack_van. That's departed now, still up but the recs stopped about two years back. That site was always fun to find folks to fandom chat with. Time waddles on ...

Fandom is tons o'fun. MLP FIM would be appealing; I've not watched it but a favorite character in my current fandom, Penguins of Madagascar, is a Brony. It's really cute.

LJ's change in terms of service two months back had many leave for Dreamwidth or at least crosspost; here's a super long entry on what's going on: http://dw-news.dreamwidth.org/38065.html

and my abridgement: leave a comment on the above entry, or focus on this: * If you're looking for new people to subscribe to you, leave a comment with some basic info about your journal and what you tend to write about! Then everybody can browse around and meet each other. (There's also [community profile] 2017revival and [community profile] addme, both of which are unofficial but bustling ( ... )

Hello! Good to hear that you're making progress with your writing, and I hope all is well in Seal Land.

As for prompts, why not just start with a blank page, think of your favourite character(s), and just see what they want to do? Something like this can be fun: http://www.plot-generator.org.uk/story/ (and also very silly!).

Hi!

Long time no see - that's mainly because I've not been here at LJ much at all. All isn't that great in Seal-land, more details in another post. Lots of real life things that mean I have to be grown up and sensible and organised and responsible and blah blah blah. You know... life!

Hadn't found that plot generator before. Fun games. There is A voyage to the Bottom of the Sea on somewhere. And in previous years I've had fun with a D&D (the actual game) one.

Life will, inevitably, be life. I hope Mr Seal is doing okay, but I'm sure you'll get around to telling us when you're able.

That plot generator is brilliantly ridiculous. I hadn't used it properly before, but it threw a piece of splendid nonsense at me last night, just after I'd posted that comment. It might be worth further experimentation!

You need a prompt other than rockfall and everybody dies?

How about Eric and 'Thinks couldn't get any worse'.

Knowing you I am sure than things could get a lot worse if it involves Eric :)

I miss this silliness too.
Plus I still haven't done any writing on the Presto / Varla fic.

*hugs*

I have missed making life miserable for our favourite Cavalier, and I miss all the fun we had with DDC.

I will ponder Eric and Things couldn't get any worse and see what comes out. Thanks for the suggestion!

And I'll beta the P/V fic whenever you're ready :D

Hope you are doing ok - IOU an email. Lots of Important Life Stuff going on at the moment, and it's all getting quite complicated and busy and tiring.
