In Flight Simulator X, I have a small fleet of corporate jets. This one, the 747, was en route from Anchorage to Los Angeles when an explosion pretty much destroyed engine #3. Fortunately, cameras were rolling to capture the entire incident, and here it is encapsulated into a minute-and-thirty-second film clip for ease of digestion.

Ya brought the thing down in one piece, man. 'Course, you probably could've also flown it to LA in one piece, albeit a little slowly. I mean, it would have been against company regs and all, but really, you can fly and land one of these fuckers on just one.

Taking off, now...

After I got it down, I sat in the cockpit for a while, waiting to see if it would 'splode or something. After I looked around a bit, I noticed a lit-up button labelled "Fire - Push". So I pushed it. And the fire went out.

I've committed the location of that button to memory now.

This emergency landing went a lot better than the "landing gear failure" emergency landing of last week in my Lear 45. The left gear didn't come down. "I wonder how long I can balance this thing on the right and front gear?" I wondered as I approached the runway.

About 0.0005 seconds, apparently.
