THE LAST MAN: When John got accidentally sent 40k+ years in the future, and Rodney literally spent his entire lifetime figuring out a way to undo it and bring John back.
DOPPLEGANGER: Thanks to an alien entity, Sheppard's biggest fear was revealed to be Rodney's death.
THE SHRINE: The quintessential McShep ep. Rodney was losing all his higher mental functions due to a parasite, but the one person he never forgot, even when he forgot his own name, was John. The scene on the pier, where he tries to say goodbye and John refuses? Gah! Kills me every time.
Add that to beers on the pier and racing cars in the hall and playing video games together and saving each other's lives on the regular. MEANT TO BE, people. MEANT TO BE.

CANON: Steve and Danny regularly tell each other 'I love you'.
CANON: Danny travels to North Korea and Afghanistan to save Steve's life, regardless of the peril to his own.
CANON: Snuggling on the couch watching a chick flick on Halloween.
CANON: Touching. So much touching. BUTT TOUCHING.
CANON: Steve was fully prepared to get blown up with Danny just because he didn't want to leave him alone with the bomb.
CANON: The air heart that time Steve was getting airlifted off the mountain when he broke his arm.
CANON: Steve knows literally everything about Danny, and almost nothing about the girl he was on-again/off-again dating for years.
You see what I mean? In interviews, the actors have even said they'd be fine carrying Steve and Danny's relationship to the next logical step. THEY SHIP IT!!
