I'm back from our family trip to the Redwoods! It was GREAT - fun and interesting and warm and it was really nice to spend dedicated, non-stressful family time together for an extended period for the first time since I went back to work in 2009, basically. We rented an RV and had a blast, and I took over 1100 pictures, some of which I am sharing

I'm so glad someone else is squeeing about Eureka this season. It's just making me So. Happy. I'm really sad it's going away soon, but so grateful that they got this last season to be spectacularly awesome.
The amount of smart, competent, happy women on this show delights me CONSTANTLY, especially since they're women of color
THIS OMG. There have been scenes this season that have made me kick my feet (quite literally) with delight because it is just so amazing to see these smart, diverse, interesting, relatable female characters doing Things with their lives, and with each other, and with the men they love, IN THAT ORDER.
In conclusion, Allison ♥! Jo ♥! Holly ♥! Andy ♥! Jack ♥! Henry ♥! Fargo ♥! Grace ♥! and, okay, Zane, I guess you can stay. *sigh*

They've actually made me LIKE him, finally. The move to Section 5 might actually bring out some qualities that I can accept in addition to the rest of his Zane-ness. This show makes me so consistently HAPPY. I love it.

Except that bear statue is FUCKING TERRIFYING. I'm glad Puplet is unafraid, though!

And OMG SYTYCD! \o/\o/\o/ I'm always surprised by who gets cut and who they give extra chances to, you know? But I love that little belly dancer girl so much! I'm totally crossing my fingers for her.

I don't know either about Eureka. I love it to death. Maybe it's that it's mostly a contained show (in that there aren't a ton of really intricate season-long arcs) and most of the shows people rave about around here have really long arcs? I don't know. I mean who wouldn't love adorkable Jack and sexy-smart Alison? Crazy people, that's who.

I love Eureka so much - that's a good point about there not being a lot of long arcs. That is pretty popular. And it's a good quality show, so not much room to move around in it fic-wise, I guess. Although the premise of the town is such that you could write basically ANY STORY YOU WANT. So. IDK!
