You're one of the very best vidders out there, and you keep reinventing yourself, trying new techniques and vidding different fandoms, without letting go of your signature style and grace. You rock.

With your more serious vids I often have a feeling of great emotional power, leashed tightly so that only the essence seeps out. I love that, yet I also wonder what would happen if you let go of that restraint and went with balls-to-the-wall emotion, just for one vid.

Wow that's so kind. As for the emotion I definitely take your point. I'd quite like to see me do a vid like that too but somehow whenever I try to let it all go like that it just feels a bit messy. It's definitely something I'd like to try at some point.

I love your "Boom Boom Ba" beyond all reason.

I most adore the *sensuality* you achieve in several of your videos -- Boom Boom Ba, Protege Moi come to mind right off, but others as well. Just a really lush quality that I don't see in a lot of vids -- song choice of course affects the feel, but also it's something about how you transition with really good flow from one clip to another, whether using hard cuts or dissolves, the matching of color and movement.

Thank you so much. Trying to keep everything flowing is so important to me as a vidder and such a huge part of what I enjoy in other people's vids so to be told I'm doing a good job there is a huge compliment.

I have watched a good number of your vids and loved pretty much every minute with squeeish abandon. I am positively jealous at your ability to vid a variety of different genres (stylistically, not fandom-wise, per se).

"Protege Moi" and "Devotion" are probably my two favorites of yours and serve as constant inspirations nearly everytime I open up my own vidding software and work on a vid.

It's fantastic to hear which vids of mine you particularly like, thanks greatly for the compliments. Being an inspiration is kinda scary, though. :D

I am always impressed by your technical mastery and ability to edit quickly (both in terms of the speed at which you produce vids and your quick cutting therein), though I often find I'm unable to follow your narratives clearly or understand why you made certain clip decisions. This is probably more my weak reading level than a weakness in your storytelling, but either way, I wish I was able to pull the same (wonderful) viewing experience from all your vids, or see what others see.

That said, you are certainly a valuable asset to the community and I always look forward to seeing what you will produce next.

I think you're the first person to really make a comment about unclear narrative. It is always a balancing act, for any vidder I think, to get the narrative/visual aspects across evenly.

As with all aspects of vidding that clarity is something I would like to improve on. I know that occasionally a clip choice I think of as blindingly obvious has elicited a resounding "huh?" from my beta. There is definitely something to think about there. On the other hand I am quite resistant to the idea of guiding somebody through the entirety of a vid because one of the joys in watching vids can be in seeing what threads you can pull out for yourself (or is that just me?)

Thanks very much for your concrit.

In your LJ sticky post of vids, 'Starbuck' is spelt wrong (next to Mainstream). Thought you'd like to know. ;)

I only wish that I could coax you into vidding some more shows that I am familiar with! ;)

More seriously, I find your vids unspeakably amazing. Your editing is always polished and professional-looking. You're a true master at this.

I vid so many shows I'm sure our paths will cross at some point. (unless of course you're only into Farscape & SGA) ;)

Thank you kindly for the compliments!

You're so accomplished! I especially like the way you use action sequences. I just watched Mainstream, Smile, Cool Your Jets, Modern Nature and Boogie Wonderland and they were all so distinctive and diverse but all lots of fun.
