This was such a great season; pure enjoyment, for me, and has set up some things for next season as well, with Deb hopefully learning about Dex's mother, the baby & being a husband issues, and, well, who knows what else. YES. I've seen people complain about the finale not being very 'exciting', but I liked it. It tied up things nicely, and it really didn't feel like filler or anything like that. (Although, I thought we were going to learn more about Quinn and his shady past?)
*averts eyes from PB cause I've not seen it yet* (Expect an 'omg!!!!' mail soon. :D)
(Although, I thought we were going to learn more about Quinn and his shady past?) Ack, I forgot to complain about that in my post! Although I linked to someone who complained about it, so I guess that works. But: yeah, what the hell was all that about? Seemed like a lot of rigmarole over nothing with no payoff.
But: yeah, what the hell was all that about? Seemed like a lot of rigmarole over nothing with no payoff. I really needed some more Quinn backstory. Hopefully in season 4, but I'm not holding my breath.
It was worth it to wade through one and a half seasons of him going slowly more and more crazy and drug-addicted to get to tonight and his comment about it being the "most secure bathroom break in history." Yes, yes it was. :D :D
Though I am confused as hell about what's going on with Sarah and whatever that is floating above her. Also, what does it mean that Alan Parks was a waitress? The last 10 minutes of that episode were confusing.
I'm still thinking my way through that. It was interesting, but I'm not sure we have enough information to draw conclusions, you know?
I loved the stuff with Dexter's dad. Especially when Harry was all, "These aren't MY tears." I love that the writers are very aware that Dexter's "Harry" is not real and specifically write him that way and in fact want the audience to see him that way. Because we're not supposed to view that as an actual relationship between Dexter and the ghost of his father; we're supposed to view it as Dexter interacting with his relationship with his father. It's deliciously complicated writing.
I think Serpents might have been filmed last, and was suppose to be last, but they aired it out of order. I'm not sure yet. I've always been confused on that part. But I always think of Serpents as the last episode. :)
So now that you have seen all the eps, are you moving on to fan vids? :)
Actually, when Magnificent Seven first aired in my country, Serpents was shown last. I was surprised to find the Obsession was moved to last place when I got the DVDs, because it didn't have a feel of the Last Episode to me the way Serpents did, with it's Ezra ♥ and Buck/Louisa ♥ plots. Interestingly, zekiel treats the last four episodes as a third season on her Magnificent Seven Handbook, with the first two seasons containing 8 episodes each. Their quality makes them stand on their own
( ... )
I felt the same way in Serpents in regards to Ezra. My own cheezey rationalization was that they all treated Ezra so horribly, and made it clear that they didn't trust him, and he was so hurt [pets Ezra] that he decided to hell with them and acted like they assumed he would. So he took the money out of hurt. And I don't think he would have left with it in the end.
That was the only way my overprotective Ezra instincts could deal [g]
I agree that he took it because they kept expecting him to, but I keep hoping he'll be a little more heroic than that. The other thing I console myself with is, as you say, he ultimately wouldn't have been able to do it (and didn't! Since he immediately stepped in to help Mary), that he would have maybe even gotten out of town and then realized how wrong it was. Also, I imagine they wanted to not make him entirely heroic yet if there was ever a chance for more episodes. *g*

SCC was indeed confusing as all get-out.

Yes! That is an excellent point. The show has handled the entire Dexter & Harry arc flawlessly so far.

That's an interesting way to think about it. There's a certain expectation of time difference when you're talking seasons; I'll have to consider that!
I am anxiously awaiting songs to step up and announce themselves as Mag7 songs. Hee.
