Welcome to Day 10 of IJVP!

The tenth vidlet was suggested by sansets, it's a Due South Fraser/Vecchio vid to Anberlin's, "Stationary Stationary."

You did a really wonderful job of expressing the lyrics with clip choice, but I don't think I could watch it more than once to look for POV issues/successes. I was a punk fan for several years but this is the worst sort of pop-punk-rock, imo, and it also scared me because I'm sitting in a quiet room and didn't realize my computer volume was up so high. XD Those things aside, Fraser/Ray and pop-punk are two great tastes that don't taste good together for me.

Kudos to you for the work.

Ow. Watching this taught me that even though I claim to be NOTP, I still wince at the implied One True Ray message. (And I wonder if I would feel the same had the message been the other way around; I don't actually know. I don't like stories which denigrate either Ray, and I read all pairings, but I think I might feel "closer" to F/K.) Um, not that this is really about your vid, it's about the emotional response it evoked.

I did get the POV shift on the second viewing - I didn't really hear the words the first time, and the intercut Rays confused me because what had stuck with me was the phone business that made the Fraser POV clear. And I loved the hat shot!

Huh, interesting. I wasn't trying to denigrate RayK at all, actually; rather the opposite - that RayV wants to know if he treated Fraser the same, and he did.

Oh, I don't think I saw it as denigration so much as the implied message of "I went off with a substitute for a while, but you're the one with my heart" that I especially caught from the CotW clip where Fraser pushes by RayK into "Langoustini's" hotel room. It just made me go "waah" a bit in the context. I know you are bi-Ray-cial and not anti-K! I just...this is my emotional reaction. And it's interesting (to me) because it exposes some of my subconscious attitudes that I wasn't aware of.
