I need to ask a question to everyone out there that has graduated....

How long after finals (college, I mean, Seth studied English in Brown, to be more exact) is the graduation ceremony? I mean, if you finish in the Spring semester, around mid June, when would the graudation be??

Any and all answers will help me to finish ASA. Thanks!

stupid questions, writing

If I recall correctly, my high school and college graduations were right after finals. I think both were on the weekend.

I worked near NYU and those graduations were by school and during the week (School of Business, School of Arts etc.). I'm pretty sure they were right after finals, probably the following week at the latest.

Colleges in the US finish much earlier - typically finals are the first 2 (maaaaaaybe 3) weeks of May, and graduation will almost always occur by the end of may. I think I had 10 days between exams and graduation, but my tests were early in the finals period ( ... )

The dates for final's week for Brown I totally googled and I swear to God that somewhere in there it said mid June. Apparently, they were lying to me. I love your calendar. I totally totally do. I'm so saving it for future reference. *g*

Okay, so commencemente is the day they are given their diplomas. Okay, I can totally work with that. If I didn't have to leave right now. But I so have the line in my brain that will make the rest flow, so I'm writing that down and then going to take a shower.

I LOVE YOU. Thanks so much!!!

Btw, here is the page that should tell you all sorts of info re: Browns Baccalaureate ceremony: http://www.brown.edu/web/commencement/2010/

If you look on the right side, you'll see dates for the next 2 years in the FAQ shaded area.

Undergrads are kept separate from the grad and med schools- as they are during their course of study. Like all Ivies/private colleges and smaller schools, there are separate diploma ceremonies, since everyone receives a blank one at the actual event, but they're not like the bigger state schools, which tend to mail diplomas at later dates.

I'm following what sounds like an actual senior's week and the date of the commencement? The fact that it's a Sunday? Totally fucks up with my timeline. No, really. If it had been a Saturday, then Seth could have... nevermind. Crap. ANd now I have to torture Ryan another week and have Seth drop in the next weekend and... I think I hate you, just a little bit. Just so you know.

Also, are you ever online anymore? I can't seem to see you EVER. *clings*

You realize I replied to your questions/post right after you posed them/it, right? That meant I was online. It took you how long to respond to/acknowledge the info I linked? Ha! I think you just contradicted yourself.

Brown apparently couldn't tailor its schedule to your AU fic. What a bummer. You can tweak to make it fit, or you can go for accuracy and change your story as necessary. You decide! Hate if you like. I was only doing as YOU asked. ; )

And if you are asking am I ever just around chatting on some sort of IM like AIM, that would imply free time and wanting to be spotted by a number of people I try to avoid outside of work in the actual office for some peace of mind- and others I just avoid period. That's why I never turn that AIM on anymore.

Oh, but that's actually YOUR FAULT. The second I started getting responses, it just made me WANT TO WRITE, so I went and followed the links (yours was the second posted) and given the date (Sunday, damn it!) my brain tried to fix it in the storyline and then I kept on writing (because my myses were INSPIRED and it was better not to poke them too hard, they might spook) and so when I realized you might be online, it was like four hours later. So, yeah, your fault. And I said I'd answer your post in a second with maybe a hint of something in the story, but then I went and got blocked again. *sighs*

Yeah, I've noticed that you never turn on AIM. Question, have you thought about another AIM account? I have a backup in MSN (the main one is filled with people from college and work, so, yeah), when I just want to talk with Jose or my two best friends. *g* Backups rock, babe!

I still miss you. Totally. I just have way more writer's block than I used to, ever.
